Diary Of A Sick Donkey. And Funnies.

If you didn't catch my Friday post last week, you can go here for some background.

Day 1:  A simple sore throat. I don't think I'm going to get this bug as badly as my husband did.

Day 2:  Still just a sore throat. A tad worse, but still - I don't think this will be too bad.

Day 3:  Woke up with sandpaper in bronchial tubes. How did that get jammed down there? Still - not as bad as I would have expected judging by husband's illness.

Day 4:  Sandpaper and a cough; still - not horrible - must have stronger immune system than husband. I am still vertical and functioning.

Day 5: WHOA NELLY I'M DYING I'M DYING I'M DYING COUGH COUGH COUGH COUGH COUGH

Night 5:  WHOA NELLY I'M STILL DYING THERE'S NO END TO THE COUGHING AND WHO INSTALLED A TAP IN MY EYES AND NOSE

Day 6:  PLEASE SOMEONE KILL ME I'VE GONE THROUGH ALL THE TISSUES I'M USING MY RESCUE INHALER I'M USING DECONGESTANT I CAN'T SEE I CAN'T BREATHE I CAN'T SMELL WHERE IS ALL THIS FLUID COMING FROM????

Day 7:  Stay tuned ..........

*****

I think we need some funnies now.

Well, *I* need some funnies anyhow.

I hope you all have a healthy week, but if it's too late for that wish, I hope you all recover soon.

And if THAT's not going to happen either, I hope you at least have something to laugh at :)

Thanks for the funnies, and please stay home. That's all. Love you.

Thank you so much for the funnies, I laughed a lot. Sorry to hear about day 6 though and hope you get better very soon, or immediately.

Don't worry, I'm keeping my ick to myself :) I've cancelled two outings and rebooked two medical appointments, and called in sick to work!

I'm glad you laughed at the funnies! Sometimes I don't know if it's just my sense of humour or if others will like them too :)

Oh dear! It caught you! It’s a bad one this year. I’m so sorry. Rest up. Lots of fluids. As much sleep as the coughing will allow. Get better soon my friend.

Here's hoping! The coughing, my gosh, it's nuts . . .

I'm sorry you're ill. Maybe it will turn out to be a bad dream like the kitty had.

Love,
Janie

LOL - I'll let you know later, ha ha

Good to hear from you - how are you feeling?

Susan Kane said...

Whoa Nelly! Haven't heard that phrase in ages!

It is always good to have good old cat wisdom to make you feel better. Get well.

Love the funnies.
And a question: with the never ending flood of mucus why is it that after a heavy cold we aren't many pounds lighter? Snot fair.
Get better quickly - and hugs.

The 'flu from hell sure enough. Thanks for the kitty laughs.

Oh dear. Somehow you have caught Manflu. The funnies are great. I've seen calves entangled with heads in milk buckets like the cats are in their food bowls.

Steve Reed said...

Oh no! Take care of yourself! I'm sending healing vibes your way!

Joan (Devon) said...

Oh dear! I suppose it was inevitable with your husband having the lurgy. Hope it doesn't linger for long. Take care.

jenny_o said...

Whoa Nelly just popped out of my head and onto the screen. The things we've got in there just waiting to drop out, eh? lol

jenny_o said...

Snot fair - ha ha! And it's a very good question.

jenny_o said...

Kitties make everything better :)

jenny_o said...

Ha ha! I guess when you see food and you're hungry, it doesn't matter!

If this is Manflu I'm going to be more sympathetic toward men from now on :D

jenny_o said...

Seem to have turned a corner today - thank goodness :)

jenny_o said...

Sometimes I avoid whatever he gets, but not this time :) Thanks, Joan.

Marie Smith said...

Feel better soon, Jenny.

I spent time with my grandson yesterday and he had a croup-like cough. Hope I avoided it but it’s so hard not to cuddle him.

May you be feeling much better very soon.
That's my cheap version of an Irish blessing. Sometimes it works, sometimes not so much.
Did anyone ask the dog whether it wanted the touching? It hardly seems fair if not.

jenny_o said...

Aww, yes - especially when the little ones feel bad, that's when they really need the hugs!

jenny_o said...

It probably works just as well as the expensive versions, Doug - lol

You make a good point about the dog!

Cherie said...

How are you feeling today Jenny? I hope you are over the really bad part of your bug.

jenny_o said...

Thanks, Cherie - I seem to be over the worst of it now, thankfully! You know how there are just new symptoms every day for awhile and then things start to recede? I'm there :)

Poor girl...I hope you feel better soon. And thanks for the funnies...I'm not sick but I needed them too.

Red said...

Why should I stay tuned? It sounds like you're going to die. I wish you a rapid recovery.

jenny_o said...

Glad to help!

jenny_o said...

That made me laugh, Red!

Still tired.

Glad a good laugh with the funnies. Thank you!

And I hope you feel better soon. Sounds like a horrible cold!

jenny_o said...

Thanks - and glad you got a laugh :)

jenny_o said...

Oh dear - it's been a long time for you, hasn't it? I hope things improve soon, Janie.

LL Cool Joe said...

Oh no poor you! Get well soon. Keep the funny memes coming, they brighten my day!

I love ALL of the funnies for the week. especially the one with the dog in the hammock. And the cat sharpening his claws on his tongue. And the one with the cute furry thing...

jenny_o said...

Oh goody - I have loads more. I've been saving them up for awhile now. More coming!

jenny_o said...

Ha ha! I thought of your Harry when I saw that hammock one!

I can tell how sick I am by how much I want to make fun of myself, kylie :D
