Frazzled On Friday, Part 2 Of Probably Many Parts

A short post today, because I'm frazzled, just like last Friday.

Yesterday started off on a different kind of note, with a cat falling in the toilet.

Then the smoke detectors started beeping and there was no fire.

Then I drove two hours to see my son and my ex-cat, another half an hour to see my daughter and her family (including two little grandsons!), and two hours home.

I'm pooped.

So icanhascheezburger.com is rescuing me AGAIN. Enjoy :)

Some of the best pictures happen by accident. Or course, some OTHER best pictures happen because the photographer has skills and talent ... but this is in the first category.

Maybe this is the photographer in the first photo.

Darn cats.

Yes. Sigh.

Husky has sarcasm down pat.

This little guy is "splooting" - right, Steve? (Steve introduced us to this word on his blog Shadows & Light, not long ago. It's what you call it when a dog lies with its back legs stretched out and belly on the ground. I couldn't wait to use this word!)

Better not let Mike near a credit card, either, or Poof!! goes the magnetic strip. Ask me how I know ...

This is me with my husband. I finish the page well before he does. But guess who remembers stuff better? That's right - HE DOES.

This joke never gets old for me. Or maybe I just keep forgetting it ...

These look suspiciously like the "two left cats" in the box from last week's Frazzled On Friday" post!

I hope everyone has a restful weekend, even if you have to sploot to really enjoy it.

And I REALLY SUPER EXTRA HOPE YOUR CAT (IF YOU HAVE ONE) DOESN'T FALL IN THE TOILET. Because it's very traumatic. And it's no fun for the cat either.

  1. Many years ago not one but two kittens fell in the toilet. And no-one had any fun at all. And I bled.
I hope your weekend is much less frazzled and you get to 'lax a bit. A lot.
    Hugs.

    1. Oh no!! Two cats in the toilet is definitely worse than one :) Thanks, EC; you too. Hugs.

  2. I keep my toilet closed because I really don't want to waste time trying to catch a sopping wet scared cat, nor do I want to be mopping up all the areas she streaks through trying to "get away" from her own wet self.

    1. We always do keep it closed; the problem in this case was that the seat had gotten loose (just in the last two days or so) and when the cat jumped, it pushed the seat sideways and broke it completely. Good advice, though!

  4. Forgetful kitty......but they never forget to let you know their dish is empty do they? Here's to a kitty free toilet next week.

  5. The dog with the jowls gets my first prize. All the rest come in second. A nice laugh collection.

  6. Your cat fell in the toilet?! Did you take pictures? You could have made your own "I can has cheezburger" meme! Hopefully your weekend will be more restful, and keep that lid down! LOL!

    1. The lid WAS down - it broke when she jumped up! She was not impressed and photos were not even close to happening :)

  7. Splooting is a great word. The poor cat who fell in the toilet probably still wants to know who in the hell pushed him in.

Haha! She's giving the toilet a wide berth today.

  8. I hope no more cats fall in the toilet for you as I can only imagine that can't be a lot of fun. I am going to give splooting a try. Maybe I will teach Ms. Frizzle. Have a frazzle-free weekend.

    1. Does Ms Frizzle not sploot already? By all means, give her a demo!!

  9. OK, here are two uplifting cat videos for you in the hopes that your weekend is less frazzly:

This one is of a "rally cat" at a baseball game:

and this one is of a couple of guys who rescue cats from tall trees:

No word on whether they rescue them from toilets, though...

    1. Okay, that cat at the ball game? That's how the cat who fell in the toilet reacts to being picked up ... imagine panic and water added to that :)

I loved the youtube video. It's heartwarming to know there are people out there who rescue cats out of the goodness of their hearts. Thank you for that. I'm going to check out some more of the videos in that series.

I suspect your kitty is still missing or you would have said otherwise ... I hope you have a miracle return this week.

  10. HAHAHA! These were funny. I love the word "splooting". I've never heard that before. Now I'm going to want to use it somewhere.

And the cat falling in the toilet... There has to be an interesting (albeit traumatizing) story behind that :)

    1. When you use "sploot" you must also demonstrate it to ensure people understand fully :) ha ha!

The lid was loose (just in the day or two before that) and when the cat jumped up it broke the lid completely and in she went :)

  11. Hoppe you get some rest .
    concerned about your smoke alarm?
hope cat remained safe and Clean lol.
    thanks for smiles!

    1. My husband replaced all three smoke alarms so everything is fine there. The cat is also fine although she is keeping her distance from the toilet :)

  12. Thanks for the LOLZ! Part of my chuckles were from your jokes, and the rest were from the memory of my cat falling into the toilet... twice.

When he fell in the first time, he levitated out of there and fled at the speed of light, and I figured he'd learned his lesson about jumping up on the (always open) toilet seat. But no. Only a week or so later he fell in again. Fuzz was a very laid-back cat, so instead of the all-out panic of the first time, this time I could see the resignation in his eyes: "Aw, crap, I fell in the toilet again. *sigh*" So instead of levitating, he reached up a paw to drag himself out... and snagged the flush lever.

I'd like to say I rescued him, but to be honest, I was laughing so hard I couldn't have saved him even if he had started to go down the drain. After that I started closing the toilet lid, and even 30 years later when we've been catless for decades, the toilet lids are always closed in our house!

    1. OH NO! Poor Fuzz :) We've always kept our toilet lids closed. But the seat/lid was getting loose just recently and when the cat jumped up it broke completely off. Really I had only noticed it a couple of days prior. But she's a bit of a hefty cat, and must have hit it at just the wrong angle. She was not impressed. At all.

I needed to get this week's theme to you. It is modern conveniences. Something Delores is struggling with! :)

The zen kitties cracked me up. I've always loved the one about the slowest reader ever! :D Thanks for the laughs!
