Heads Up, All You Poets

Delores, over at Mumblings, has thrown down the gauntlet! Otherwise known as a poetry challenge :)

Next Monday she and I are going to have a reduced-calorie, low-fat, two-thirds version of Poetry Monday, in Diane's absence.

The topic is "ice and snow" and you are welcome to join us.

Ready? Get writing! And check in on January 21 to see what we've come up with. At the same time, you can leave your own poem in the comments, or a note to let us know where your blog is so we can come along and cheer you on.

Hope to see you then :)

Is that a gauntlet in the distance? Or is it a hat? Let's pretend it's a gauntlet. A poetry gauntlet. . . . . . . . . Oh, never mind.

  1. I'm completely hopeless at poetry and ice and snow are things I'm not familiar with, so I'll leave the writing to others and just read.

    1. Writing of any kind definitely needs someone to read it, so I'm glad you're willing to do that :)

  2. Of course it is a poetry gauntlett - and I am looking forward to seeing where it takes you.

    1. It still looks like a hat when I peer closely :) You are, like River, a reader whom I appreciate.

  3. The drawing reminds me of a spaghetti western. Maybe I will try to write a poem about Clint Eastwood.

    1. If you do, please let me know so I can read it!

That picture was the result when I searched for "duel" in Pixabay - and the labels included "western", so you're right on target with that observation :)

    1. Yes, I've been watching that storm because it will be tracking through my province starting on Sunday (although we're supposed to get equal parts snow and rain). Stay warm and safe, Angella!

    1. LOL! So Martha, are you in? :D Or are you going to be a spectator?

Poetry: a spectator sport - ha ha

  6. Whoops! I think I forgot to 'publish'. That's because I was pondering why muses are always female - or are they?

    1. I don't know; the muse concept is a relatively new one for me and I really should rectify my lack of knowledge on the subject!!

  7. Perhaps the gauntlet is under the hat?

  10. I've only ever understood a gauntlet as a metaphor, works for poetry I suppose.
