Should it be the wild blue yonder or the wide blue yonder? I am never quite sure about this but it might make a good subject for a poem. It is a place I would very much like to visit be it wild or wide.
According to Thesaurus.com, it's wild blue yonder. According to idioms.thefreedictionary.com, it can be either. If you wrote the poem I am sure you would do it justice!
I thought it was just a silly way to finish the rhyme but LL Cool Joe (above) tells me it's an Eminem meme . . . I hope no dogs were harmed in the taking of that photo.
I know this is a very hard day for you, Jenny. My heart goes out to you. As I told you, I have been there. Now I am going through the second wave as my grandchildren head out to colleges that are out of state and one across the country. I cling to the hope that they will all come home eventually. Meanwhile, I will send cookies and visit when I can.
You are an expert in this area and I'm going to make good use of your experience, Arleen. I wonder how hard it is to send cookies across the Canada/U.S. border? A letter would definitely go, and might be different from emailing.
I just remember the time when he called the Democrats in the state legislature "a bunch of ladymen" and Tom Ammiano, who is gay and an LGBT activist replied "That's Mister Ladyman to you."
Thank you so much, baili. You have good advice when you say to stay strong, positive and happy -- it is absolutely necessary to do so! You must be getting excited about seeing your son soon. A year is a long time!
This is sad but obviously the best for the new family. I'm sure you'll be taking a few hols in canada.

They are moving to the US from Canada so we'll have to get some passports and make some plans!

ReplyDeleteNot any easy time for you I'm sure. Take care.
I didn't realize it was an Eminem meme! I thought it was just a silly poem :)
DeleteThanks, Joey.
I'm sorry you've had to wave goodbye! I do not get that spaghetti thing at all, but the dog is cute.

ReplyDeleteThank you with all my heart, EC.
DeleteBwahahaha! Perfect!
ReplyDeleteAnd I hope it won't be long till you see your daughter and family!
Me, too, Diane.
DeleteI was going to say "poor dog" but then thought One shake of his head and dinner is served.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I hope the dog is generally treated well. I often think that about "funny" pictures and wonder.
DeleteI feel for you Jenny! It took me a long time to come to terms with our daughter’s move to England.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I knew about your daughter being in England, Marie. That's pretty far away! I'm sorry you are separated by an ocean.
DeleteSending good wishes to your daughter and her family. And sending you lots of hugs xo
ReplyDeleteThank you, Martha - good wishes and hugs always help.
DeleteMaybe I'll try the hair spaghetti. I know it's a tough time for you.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
I'm thinking that hair spaghetti probably lives up to its name . . . (dog hair).
DeleteAt least now I can start looking forward to seeing them again instead of looking ahead to saying goodbye . . .
Arnie can be back all he wants so long as he stays away from the governor's mansion.

Ha ha! I'm not familiar with his record as governor so I will take your word for it!

A good comeback by Ammiano :)
