The good news is that my back/hip is feeling okay.
The bad news is that I am f-r-i-e-d.
I am a tired donkey.
I think I could sleep on concrete right now. (Photo courtesy of Pixabay.) |
And in the middle of the moving, I took a day off for my father's burial service. More on that to come.
Regular programming will resume Friday.
By then, I hope to report this (maybe more than once):
Someone has to do it. Otherwise, what would the trees live on? (e card courtesy of somecards.com) |
Hope your week goes well.
I hope you are fully rested by Friday. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Joe - me too!
DeleteI am very glad to hear your hip/back is finally better.
ReplyDeleteNow please don't over do it - and take care of your important self.
I'm on it. I slept fourteen of the last eighteen hours and I feel human again.
DeleteHope you can take a break and put your feet up, PD. A cup of coffee, a good book...speaking of books, i notice that you read "Pines". I didn't realize that Wayward Pines was based on a book=or is it a series? Any good?
ReplyDeleteThanks, Chicken. There are other Pines books although I haven't read them. I got that one at the dollar store, and I'd love to read more of them. I really liked it. It's one of my favourite genres - futuristic fiction. Have you watched the TV "event" (as the blurb on the cover called it) and, if so, is that a movie or a series?
DeleteI'm glad your hip is feeling better. Maybe you can start taking walks again when the commotion subsides?

I went for a walk this afternoon, Doug. Things are not fixed yet, apparently, for walks of more than a couple hundred yards. It's weird that I did all that walking back and forth for moving and had no issues. Must be the repetitive nature of the strides in longer walks.
DeleteMoving is weird like that. When we had to be out of the foundry by Jan. 3, the owner there let us use a storage locker there, and I borrowed an aluminum cart and moved all of my stuff into it. I'm talking tons of stuff, much of which is my antiquated music equipment. Big, heavy speaker cabinets and the like. Did I mention that I walk with a quad-cane? I kept leaving the biggest things for last, thinking I'd get help with them, but then when everything else was moved, I'd just go "Maybe I can move that, it won't hurt to try..."
DeleteUpside? I found out I can do things I had believed beyond my ability.
Downside? My back and my right arm were sore for a week.
Walking is so good for you, maybe start small and try to build? Unless doing so is damaging you, that is.
Anyway, good luck, I really do know what a drag it is to have a hard time walking!

Yes to the upside - I couldn't believe it, really. And it's amazing what you did with just yourself and a cart!
DeleteNo wonder you're tired. Moving can be exhausting.
ReplyDeleteBut as they say in the film"..tomorrow is another day.." You already feel better.
Welcome, DUTA! Thank you for your thoughts. Your blog is fascinating to me as I am not a traveller but enjoy reading about faraway places.
DeleteThat donkey picture is the BEST.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like there's a lot going on there. Please do fill us in! Take care of yourself and don't overdo it!
So many cute donkey pictures on the interwebs :) Which reminds me, I forgot to state the source. Will do that now.
DeleteMy dad passed more than a year ago. So that was simply his final committal service. I'll be writing about it soon.
As long as you don't wear out your frazzle, too. That could be disastrous.
ReplyDeleteHa ha ha!
