Sunrise in Five Frames

I am a night owl, so very often I don't see the sun rise. Sometimes I do, though. And it's worth it.

The progression of a sunrise last week:

The colours changed so fast - it was lovely to watch, and I'm glad I had my camera handy.

P. S. Happy Fourth of July to my American friends! May there be something yummy involved :)

  1. Nice shots, sunrises and sunsets are hard to capture in a photo, but those do admirably well.
Independence day is in full swing, even this early in the day. Bangity bangity bang!

  3. Ooooh. Ahhhh.
    Thank you.
On this side of the world my day is starting with blissful gentle rain. No colour today.

    1. But the grey skies that bring your blissful rain are worth it, aren't they ...

    2. Oh yes. The cats would argue the point though.

    3. Ha ha! Yes, most cats don't really like water much.

  4. Lovely photographic progression. I used to see that every morning at work --started at 6 am. Then I retired and learned there was no such hour, but I sure appreciate beautiful photos of the illusion. Thank you.

    1. You know what? It looks like the photos are out of order, but I published them in the order they were on the camera. I think it's because I was adjusting the close-up on the camera between shots. Anyway, the colours are what I was going for. Thank YOU for your highly entertaining wordsmithery, Geo.

  6. An excellent sunrise! I'm up pretty early but for some reason I rarely see it -- our living room, where I usually am at that time of morning, faces in the wrong direction!

    1. That can be a challenge! The sun rises where I can catch it but it sets behind dense vegetation so I have to leave home to find it :)

  7. There are many ways we connect, it seems. Like you, I'm such a night owl that I have mostly only ever seen sunrises if I've stayed up through the dark hours. Heh-heh.

Glorious pink in that sky there.
